Arcadia

Introduction:

Arcadia is a community based neverwinter nights server module. The primary design goal of arcadia is to produce a fun and relaxing environment where players can meet, socialise and engage in adult orientated activites.

One of the core design goals in making arcadia is to give players as much information as possible. Any information available on a player can be viewed by other players, including Public CD Keys, IP addresses, account information, character class, level, and various other user defined character status fields.

Players are encouraged to play a single character, and the default settings are for players to have only one character per account. However we also appreciate players may wish to choose to play multiple characters, so arcadia will allow for this. At any time players can query the type of character, if it is singular or multiple. This allows players to determine who they wish to associate with most and how they wish to behave, and minimises the extent to which the actions of one group impact negatively on another.

One of the shortcomings of other social servers is the degree to which anonymity and ease of character generation can allow certain individuals to behave abusively and inconsiderately and yet remain safe in the knowledge that they can create a new character and dissociate completely from the old. This in turn leads to a number of distinctive and negative social behaviours that we believe is to the detriment of an ideal adult social environment. In arcadia, if you play on a singular character account, your deeds and behaviour will stay with that character and CD Key. Players now have a greater responsibility to act in a manner that is beneficial to the population in general.

Another key design goal with arcadia is the implementation of various scripted matchmaking features that will allow characters and players to find suitable play partners, for whatever reason. Players can view custom information which is supplied by prospective play partners, characters and players.
