35 The required software is typically distributed with your operating

36 system, and the instructions for installing them differ. Here are

37 some hints:

39 gNewSense/Debian/Ubuntu:

40 apt-get install git-core autoconf libtool gettext autopoint

41 apt-get install texinfo texlive texlive-generic-recommended texlive-extra-utils

42 apt-get install help2man gtk-doc-tools valgrind

43 apt-get install guile-1.8-dev libtasn1-3-dev

44 apt-get install datefudge libidn11-dev gawk

46 You will sometimes need to install more recent versions of Automake,

47 Nettle, P11-kit and Autogen, which you will need to build from

48 sources. If your system has the recent versions, you could do:

50 apt-get install automake autogen nettle-dev libp11-kit-dev

52 To download the version controlled sources:

54 $ git clone git://git.savannah.gnu.org/gnutls.git

55 $ cd gnutls

57 The next step is to run autoreconf (etc) and then ./configure:

59 $ make bootstrap

61 When built this way, some developer defaults will be enabled. See

62 cfg.mk for details.

64 Then build the project normally:

66 $ make

67 $ make check
